Shenley Jujitsu Club were out and about demonstrating in Newport Pagnell on Tuesday. The Home Retail Group (who own Argos and Homebase) had an away-day for their HR department and needed someone to help out with a 'continuous learning' strand of the day's events. The HR department had organised everything - we just had to turn up and do our stuff.

Charlie, Sophie, Sensei Darren and I arrived along with some mats. There were three sessions of 40 mins each, and each session had about 30 people. They all had a chance to see some big throws and to have a go at several beginner techniques. The feedback from the organisers said everyone enjoyed the sessions and it got over the message they were after - that plenty of practise is needed to become proficient in a skill and that learning never stopped (even for black belts).

We left posters and flyers for the club, so we may get a few new people along to the club. They had a photographer there too, so I hope to put a few pictures up later on.

Many thanks to Charlie (who was on the wrong end of a lot of techniques), Sophie and Darren for giving up their time to help out the club at short notice. Thanks also to the parents for their picking up and dropping off services. Finally thanks to the guys at Shenley Leisure Centre who let us borrow some of their mats and helped the organisers with loading and unloading.
